Wind Energy: Recognizing the immense potential in the generation of green power in India the company has in the recent past set up 2 wind power mills. The energy produced totals up to 2MW per hour.

This renewable source of energy has a great future in the Indian context as the Indian subcontinent has fairly long monsoon season, which generate high wind. Sensing opportunity in this sector the company plans to set up more windmills in the coming future to harness this potential source of energy to its maximum. This activity will also earn “carbon credits” which is recognition of the company’s environment friendly activities.

Cotton Farming: The immense potential, which the agricultural value chain offers, has prompted the Company to launch a large cotton farming and ginning project in Tanzania (East Africa) spread over an area of 10,000 hectares. The work on this project has already commenced. It will be a fully irrigated farming project equipped with the latest mechanized farming machinery and equipments. It is expected to produce high quality (almost contamination free) raw cotton for export to various consumption centers in the world.

This activity is expected to produce about 14,000 tons of clean raw cotton and about 100,000 tons of food crops in its full capacity annually. Castor, maize and other crops are an option, which the company will examine as per market trends. The first produce will be available in the year 2009.
